27 August 2026

Round 06: Austria Formula Cup – Slovakia Ring (SVK)
The sixth round of the Austria Formula Cup season at the Slovakia Ring saw Sandro Zeller (SUI / Jo Zeller Racing) secure two more victories, rounding off a perfect race weekend. The Swiss driver came out on top in both the first and second races, thereby further extending his lead in the championship. Behind Zeller, Janos Magyar (HUN / Magyar Racing Team), Christof Ledermann (SUI / Franz Wöss Racing) and Nicolas Löffler (GER / Franz Wöss Racing) were locked in thrilling battles for the remaining podium places.

Race 1: Zeller wins ahead of Magyar and Löffler
The first race of the weekend got underway late on Saturday morning. Christof Ledermann started from third on the grid, whilst Nicolas Löffler started from fifth. Sandro Zeller once again put in a strong performance and took the lead. Behind the championship leader, a close battle for the podium places unfolded during the 25-minute race. Janos Magyar eventually secured second place, whilst Nicolas Löffler crossed the finish line in third, securing a podium finish. Nikolay Takev took fourth place ahead of Lee Cunningham and Giovanni Giordano. Christof Ledermann, having started from the second row, had to settle for seventh place. André Petropoulos rounded off the top eight.

Race 2: Another victory for Zeller – Ledermann on the podium
On Sunday around midday, the second 25-minute race of the weekend was on the programme. Once again, Sandro Zeller gave the competition no chance and celebrated his second victory at the Slovakia Ring. Janos Magyar confirmed his strong form and finished second once more. Christof Ledermann managed a significant improvement in the second race. The Swiss driver fought his way up to third place, securing a podium finish. Nicolas Löffler rounded off the top four. André Petropoulos took fifth place, followed by Christopher Stephan Oslanec and Lee Cunningham. Alexander Fritz finished eighth.

Championship: Zeller extends his lead
With his two victories at the Slovakia Ring, Sandro Zeller has further extended his lead in the overall standings. After the sixth round of the season, the Swiss driver has 207 points, giving him a comfortable lead over his rivals. Michael Fischer (AUT / Red Rose Racing by LRT) and Andrea Benalli (ITA / Puresport) remain in second and third places respectively, each on 92 points. Christof Ledermann (SUI / Franz Wöss Racing) picked up vital points thanks to his strong performances at the Slovakia Ring and now sits in fourth place with 83 points. Stig Larsen (DEN / Franz Wöss Racing + G Motorsport) follows with 69 points. Behind them are André Petropoulos (GER / Team Hoffmann Racing), Nicolas Löffler (GER / ADAC Südbayern + Franz Wöss Racing) and Janos Magyar (HUN / Magyar Racing Team), each on 66 points. Whilst Zeller is thus further consolidating his lead in the championship, the battle for the remaining top places remains wide open. There are just 26 points separating second and eighth place, meaning the remaining races of the season will continue to provide plenty of excitement in the battle for the positions behind the leader.

The Austria Formula Cup continues from 10 to 13 September at the Masaryk Racing Days at the Automotodrom Brno, where the seventh round of the season – the next round of the championship – is on the programme.
